Cle Elum wedding: Alex and Ambryn

Cozy cabins, salutations to the four directions, hand-tied bouquets, and a whole lot of love came together out in eastern Washington just shy of ten days ago, as we traveled many a dusty, bumpy road to celebrate the marriage of Alex and Ambryn:

And, after an incredible dinner and countless toasts, we set up a makeshift photobooth in one of the cabins for the guests to play in. It was a last-minute move since the wind was picking up at our original location outdoors, and while imperfect (you can see a bit of the back wall of the cabin peeking through the tinsel), we all had a total blast in it!

It was an absolute honor to spend the day with these two amazing women, their families, and the communities that support them. Huge thanks to Laura Duffy for bringing me on as second shooter for this incredible event!

Portait session: Basil

Part of an ongoing series of shoots with my pal Basil, aimed at capturing different looks for him for his acting portfolio.

This one was jokingly themed, "Safe Dad in a Cafe." I think we nailed it!

We've got a few more shoots to tackle before we wrap up -- I'll post the whole series once the project is complete. Stay tuned!

Product shoot and web design: Laura Stalions

This month's project was a bit multi-faceted: I worked with mixed-media artist Laura Stalions to build a basic online gallery that showcased the pieces she wanted to list for sale, and also did a photoshoot for the actual pieces as well. One afternoon of shooting, a few days of Wordpress immersion, and a handful of basic edits later, I launched her site.

The shoot involved a visit to Laura's home studio, to capture accurate renderings of high-gloss paintings (without the pesky glare), straight-on images of her screenprints, and my personal favorite, these hand-forged wreaths:

In addition to the work displayed, she also does commissions and custom jobs -- don't hesitate to reach out to her if you have something in mind!

King and Snohomish County Master Builders Association: Painting A Better Tomorrow at the Seattle YWCA

Each year, the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties hosts a giant volunteer event, and 2014's beneficiary was Seattle's YWCA. Over three hundred volunteers showed up to help facelift the common areas of the Y for the Painting A Better Tomorrow initiative.
